Why I never use laundry soap!

  • Back before I was even thinking about becoming a raw vegan, I started to notice that my daughter would have little reactions to the smell of bleach. She was only one, but it seems her breathing would become more labored. I also started to notice skin sensitivities to laundry soaps I would use. So after some research I learned that white distilled vinegar is best for doing laundry and so many other things! But white vinegar also acts as a natural fabric softener during the rinse cycle. And your clothes don’t stink of vinegar! They just smell fresh. I use 1/4 cup per load, and add a lid full during the rise cycle. I would use a bit more on bedding. The clothes are clean and nice and soft. If you think about it this makes perfect sense, vinegar kills mold, mildew and many other bacterias. And I can guarantee white distilled vinegar is cheaper. So you will save money!
  • Just a tip: Apple cider vinegar and white vinegar are made up of two different things, corn or apples. So because of this the apple cider doesn’t work quite the same. It will clean, however the white distilled vinegar does both. It cleans and softens.

  1. Never thought I’d see the day of washing with Vinegar. But it works great and clothes are softer. Good stuff….

  2. This is incredible! Lately I have been switching my cleaning and household products to more natural alternatives and I was wondering what I could do about laundry detergent. I have also discovered wool dryer balls and essential oils are a great all natural alternative to dryer sheets which must have a ton of chemicals. Thanks for this!

  3. I have been using vinegar for other cleaning purposes but it never occurred to me that it can be used for laundry. This is new and I’m gonna give it a try. Thank you for sharing 🙂

  4. Love this! I use vinegar in my wash all the time, and it really does clean well. I haven’t totally eliminated laundry soap, but would like to get there eventually! Thanks for the info.
